Developer Argent may have to wait another six weeks for the outcome of a public inquiry into a residential phase of its £2 billion regeneration site at King's Cross in north London.
An inquiry was undertaken in February after Islington Borough Council refused to approve a proposal for 200 new homes as part of a wider plan for land around King's Cross station.
A report was scheduled to be released in March but the council said it is not expecting to see the recommendations from Government inspector David Lavender until as late as 26 July.
The council told the inquiry that it wants a 50 per cent affordable housing provision for the one ha site. Argent has proposed 34 per cent.
The remaining stages of the redevelopment scheme fall in the neighbouring borough of Camden, which has accepted the affordable housing figure.
The inquiry also examined the tenure mix and whether or not the site would be suitable for housing given its proximity to the East Coast Main Line.
