Specialist land developer Cofton is taking advantage of the falling housing market to focus on its core market of buying up land and selling it on.
The firm, which also cleans up the land and puts in services, admitted it had been squeezed out by bigger house builders in the past couple of years.
But it said house builders were now pulling back from larger developments, enabling Cofton to re-establish itself.
It is keeping its traditional land development work in-house and creating a second business to focus on asset management and joint ventures.
This will be run independently of Cofton.
