SIG launces sustainable building products website

SIG has launched a website to help customers buy contemporary and sustainable construction products.

The company said in a statement that for construction products to be included on the new site it had to satisfy one of four criteria which include the material reducing consumption of energy and water, being a viable alternative, be reusable and be made from recyclable material.

SIG's director of sustainable products Paul Roche said: "Information on sustainable products is often confusing and contradicting as proven by the greener-than-thou spat raging between the timber lobby and PVCu industry regarding the controversial 'A' rating accredited to PVCu windows in BRE's Green Guide to Specification."
