Construction products supplier Wolseley has cut 73 jobs at its office in Royal Leamington Spa and 11 positions in Ripon due to the slowdown in the construction market.
The UK company said in a statement the company had created three new divisions – Lightside, Heavyside and Commercial and Industrial, in August and had since carried out a review of the company resulting in the redundancies.
Wolseley UK managing director and the European CEO Rob Marchbank said: "Given the deterioration in several of our markets, including the UK, we have continued to take action to reduce duplication and make cost savings across our operations.
"The review focused on driving greater emphasis on serving the customer with empowered branches, balanced with the appropriate central support structures which the business can afford."
