Dubai Sports City invites firms to express interest in Arena Mall

Selected contractors have been invited to express interest in the main construction package for the Arena Mall shopping centre at Dubai Sports City.

The contract involves the construction of a five-level structure with three basement parking levels with 3,000 spaces and two levels of shops with 140,000 square-metres of gross leaseable area.

It will have a 14,000 square-metre hypermarket, 300 stores and a 12-screen cinema.

The built-up area for the parking is 290,000 square metres and the built-up area for the shopping mall is 170,000 square metres.

The local NSCC was awarded the enabling works contract in July. The seven-month contract involves site preparation, shoring works and the excavation of 1.1 million cubic metres of material for the three-level parking basement.
