Semeco wins King Abdullah Economic City work

Saudi Arabia's Specialised Electro-Mechanical Energy Company (Semeco), a subsidiary of Al-Arrab Contracting Company (ACC), has been awarded a SR68m ($18m) utilities contract for work at King Abdullah Economic City.
The contract covers the underground construction of pre-insulated chilled water pipes, measuring 14 kilometres in length.
It is the first phase of a district cooling system in the city, which will consist of two plants, with capacity of 37,500 refrigeration tons and 40,000 refrigeration tons respectively. Both plants will be tendered at a later stage.
The client is the UAE-based City Cool. The consultant for the work is the UAE-based DC Pro.
Work is expected to take 10 months to complete.
