Scott Wilson has snapped up rival civil and structural engineering consultant Benaim in a cash and shares deal worth £5.5 million.
The firm is paying an initial £2.9 million upfront for the company which is registered in Mauritius in the Indian Ocean but has subsidiaries in the UK and Hong Kong.
Benaim was founded in 1980 and has offices in London and Bath. In the year to September 2007, the firm had revenues of £5.5 million had made a pre-tax profit of £1.1 million.
Among the jobs the pair have worked on before are rail projects in Dubai, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
