HVCA names Harry Decker Award winner
Daniel Rae of Richard Irvin Services Group walks away with top prize
Daniel Rae, an engineer at Richard Irvin Services Group, has been named as the proud winner of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Group’s Harry Decker Award.
Harry Decker was a long-standing member of the Refrigeration Air Conditioning Group (RAC) of the Heating and Ventilating Contractors Association (HVCA), until just before his death in 1981. He was a highly respected member of the industry and on his death his friends decided to set up a fund in his memory.
Guest speaker Carol Thatcher presented awards to this year’s top apprentices during the 2009 Annual General Meeting and Conference of the HVCA specialist groups, which took place at Trinity House on London’s Tower Hill on Tuesday 19 May.
The roll of winners comprised:
- Dale Carlin of Galloway Group (the Ductwork Group’s Harry Hobbs Award)
- Jamie Bolton of Neptune Building Services (the Heating and Plumbing Services Group’s Craft Trainee Award)
- Daniel Rae of Richard Irvin Services Group (the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Group’s Harry Decker Award)
- Ross O’Donnell of Mitton Mechanical Services (the Service and Facilities Group’s Richard Bostel Service Technician of the Year Award)
