Contractors flock to F-gas Essentials
IOR/HVCA seminar draws audience concerned about measures for compliance and timescales
Up to 90 people flocked to the F-Gas Essentials seminar in Birmingham on Monday 22 June to hear training experts and invited speakers on the latest guidance on the F-gas regulations.
Questions and comments centred on the short timescale for registration and measures to attain compliance by the 4 July deadline; however, particular notice was given to some of the less frequently discussed aspects such as the programme of inspections by Local Authority officers planned for this year and the extent of fines likely to be imposed on those that do not meet their legal obligations.
Defra’s F-Gas Support service shared some of the most frequently asked questions on the day, and these are published now as guides to interpretation on the ACRIB website.
Topics covered include penalties and enforcement, contractor obligations while a compliance checklist for contractors is provided.
The F-Gas Essentials seminar was supported by all the bodies involved in the regulations including F-Gas Support, REFCOM, training providers, employers and the HVCA who all provided a series of useful presentations highlighting key elements of compliance.
Co-organiser, the IOR, handed out a CD-rom which provides a single source of authoritative reference material on the F Gas Regulations. It includes tools such as refrigerant monitoring spreadsheets and checklists for compliance.
Copies of the CD-rom are available at £40 including VAT.
