Asda is to buy the 193 Netto Stores operating in the UK, and will integrate them into its new division for stores under 25,000 sq ft.
Subject to OFT approval, the plan is to refurbish all the stores and trade as Asda by the middle of next year.
Asda is to produce a wider food range than currently available in the Nettos.
