Defra appoints Bureau Veritas as third F-gas certification body

World’s largest certification body set to rival Refcom and Quidos

Bureau Veritas, the world’s largest certification body, has been appointed by Defra to operate an F-gas company cerfification scheme.

The appointment makes this the third organisation given the go-ahead by Defra after Refcom in late June, and Quidos earlier this month.

Bureau Veritas is urging companies to apply for certification via its website and other promotional materials. Prices, according to an F-gas flyer, start at £80 for a micro (sole trader) interim certificate; £150 for a full certificate rising to £345 for large companies (50+ engineers) for an interim certificate and £575 for a full certificate (all inclusive of VAT).
