03Aug90 UK: WIMPEY COMMENCES MAGISTRATE COURT CONSTRUCTION IN LEEDS.

Work is starting on a £21.3 million contract awarded to Wimpey Construction North East by Leeds City Council for the construction of a magistrates' court and prison cell complex in Park Street, Leeds West Yorkshire.The five-storey building will house 21 courts on three levels, together with offices, cells, probation service facilities and kitchens.The cost of the scheme is being split between the City Council, the Home Office and West Yorkshire Police.
