Balfour Beatty, Bam and Mace chase £35m Chancery Lane job

Balfour Beatty, Bam and Mace are competing to build a £35 million eight-storey financial centre in Chancery Lane, CN has learned.

All the latest contract wins, market trends and information on the CNinsight 100 contractors in one interactive database.

It is understood Sir Robert McAlpine was looking at the central London project, for investment company Viridas, but has opted not to tender.

The scheme includes the demolition of Lonsdale Chambers and of 2 Breams Buildings, to build an eight-storey financial centre. There will also be associated works including access roads, infrastructure and landscaping.

The scheme has been designed to achieve BREEAM very good rating, with a start date anticipated for December this year.

It is one of two office developments in the Chancery Lane area. CN revealed earlier today that Morgan Sindall has beaten Mace, Balfour Beatty and Skanska to a £30m seven-storey commercial build for Derwent.
