What is prime contracting?
ACCORDING to the Defence Estates' definition, prime contracting is: 'A single company assuming responsibility for the delivery of the contracted requirement on time, within budget (defined over the lifetime of the project) and fit for the purpose for which it was intended: and that includes demonstrating the contracted operating cost parameters can be met.'
