East Anglia had £328 million in contracts awarded in June where the education sector received the most contracts worth 154.94 million and the leisure sector was awarded no contracts at all.

In July, there was a big drop in contracts awarded to £80 million in total. The residential sector was at the top with £36.8 million and the medical at the bottom, with £0.3 million.

Even August had 100 per cent improvement in the number of contracts with a £193 million, it was not even close to the £328 million in June; the residential sector once again had the highest amount of contracts awarded worth £57.7m while the civil sector was the worst sector in contracts awarded with only £0.8 million.

According to Emap Gleningan, a five-month drop in residential orders ended in July and it registered over £1.8 billion-worth work let or started to bump the 12-month rolling total upwards in the UK. More new housing is expected to be on the way after the publication of the government's green paper on the sector in July, but the construction Products Association is still calling for more work to existing stock.  This would offset repair work damaged by recent rises in interest rates.

However, the three-month period proved to be of highly fluctuation for East Anglia.
