Housing refurbishment specialist Lovell is set to modernise Victorian terrace homes in Ironville, Derbyshire in a £1.7 million project.
Working with Amber Valley Housing, the scheme will involve the extension and upgrade 32 properties in Meadow Street and Albert Street which date from the 1840s.
The firm will build upstairs bathrooms and install new kitchens roofs, central heating, electrical and plumbing systems.
Each house will take 12 weeks to renovate and residents will use alternative accommodation while the work is carried out.
Lovell regional director Steve Hale said: "We'll continue to work closely with residents, the surrounding community and Amber Valley Housing as we carry out the building work to turn these 19th century properties into warm, comfortable and modern homes."
