Swan Housing plans for office site refused

A proposal by Swan Housing to build a block of flats on its former Basildon office site has been refused.

The scheme, which would have included 16 affordable flats close to several other existing Swan Housing developments, was rejected because authorities say the site is too small.

Councillors argued that filling up unused space will blocks of flats did not address the housing needs of the district.
