Gifford bolster London office

Engineering and environmental consultant Gifford has named Dr Sassan Majlessi as regional director to lead its civil engineering operations in London.
Dr Majlessi is an experienced chartered engineer responsible for a wide variety of projects in the UK, the USA and the Middle East.
He held senior positions for the last 11 years at Pell Frischmann where project responsibilities included the £1 billion regeneration of Liverpool city centre and the US$ 5 billion New York City East Side Access Rail Project.
He also played a lead role in the engineering infrastructure masterplanning for the city of Kirkuk in Northern Iraq.
Gifford says Dr Majlessi's appointment marks a significant expansion planned for the team operating from London. He will also liaise closely with Gifford's buildings services and structures operations in London and with the environment development planning team to ensure an integrated service to clients.
