ISG has taken a hush-hush construction management deal to fit out a major new low energy data centre somewhere in the North-east of England.
While the listed contractor announced this morning that it had taken the £75 million deal, it declined to reveal further details about who its client was, what the nature of the works were or precisely where the job was located.
Data centres are used to house the massive arrays of computers used to process data for major financial services companies such as investment banks.
As a critical part of these firm's corporate infrastructure, their location tends to be kept under wraps to help maintain their high security requirements.
Work on the 13-month build programme will start on site in September.
