The £500 million Cabot Circus retail and mixed-use development has today opened in Bristol city centre.
The scheme, a joint venture between Land Securities and Hammerson, was built by Sir Robert McAlpine and modelled on a traditional High Street.
The unveilling of the finished centre follows an eight-year delivery programme of the project, which comprises more than 90,000 sq m of retail and leisure space sited on the M32 approach into Bristol.
Bristol Alliance project delivery director Robin Dobson said: "Collaboration has been the cornerstone of every aspect of this project, from the collective efforts of the seven teams of architects, right through to the ten different contractor firms and the 3,500 construction workers involved in bringing the vision for Cabot Circus to reality. The legacy of their remarkable achievement will be enjoyed for years to come."
