Hester's Way in £70m revamp

Cheltenham Borough Council is in talks with developers over a £70 million revamp of Hester's Way.

If the work was to go ahead it would see the demolition of the Coronation Square shopping centre, which would be rebuilt as a modern facility for 30 shops.

According to a local paper Cheltenham Borough Council has been working in partnership with the county council, Cheltenham Borough Homes, Gloucestershire College and the owners of the shopping development B2 Retail.

The funding for the project would come from all four partners.

If the scheme goes ahead it will take between three and five years to construct.
