English Partnerships has agreed to invest £2.9 million in 408 new homes in the new City Waterside development in Stoke-on-Trent.
The scheme will be built by developer Gladedale, which will invest a further £55.5 million and housing market renewal pathfinder Renew North Staffordshire will also invest £2.9 million.
The agreement between partners will complete Gladedale's Wedgwood Gardens development on the cleared 5.9 ha former Johnson Brothers Trent Works site.
It is the largest and most central site in City Waterside, where a total of 2,400 new homes are planned alongside the Caldon Canal, just south of Stoke-on-Trent city centre.
Work on the new Gladedale homes is expected to begin later this year and the waterside park will be completed in 2010.
